‘Meet the Software Professional’ program organized on 19th Dec 2009

We invited Mr. Suresh, an NRI settled in California, USA for the last 15 years for the program, ‘Meet the Software Professional’. He delivered a speech on ‘Current status of software industry’ and shared his experience at ‘CISCO, USA’ as a project leader for the past one and half decades.

He answered an array of questions from our students for about one and half hours at the venue during the interactive session. Our Principal invited the chief-guest and our Administrative Officer Prof. R. Natarajan delivered the vote of thanks.

Our Principal, Dr. G. Karuppusami addressed the devotees of Sri Anumantharayan temple, Sirumugai on 19th Dec 2009.

Our Principal participated as Chief-Guest and delivered a lecture on ‘Achieving goals through collegiate education’. Thavthiru Maruthachala Adigalar of Perur Athinam presided over the function.

"முப்பெரும் விழா அறிக்கை"

நமது கல்லூரியில் செயல்பட்டு வரும் நாட்டு நலப்பணித்திட்டம், இளைஞர் செஞ்சிலுவை சங்கம் மற்றும் தமிழ் மன்றம் ஆகிய அமைப்புகளின் தொடக்க விழாவான "முப்பெரும் விழா" 25/11/2009 அன்று புதன் கிழமை காலை பத்தரை மணியளவில் கல்லூரி கலையரங்கில் நடைபெற்றது.

இவ்விழாவில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக வணக்கத்திற்குரிய கோவை மாநகர மேயர் திரு.ஆர்.வெங்கடாசலம் அவர்கள் மற்றும் மரியாதைக்குரிய கோவை மாநகர துணை மேயர் திரு.நா.கார்த்திக் அவர்கள் ஆகியோர் கலந்து கொண்டனர். விழாவானது தமிழ்த்தாய் வாழ்த்துடன் இனிதே துவங்கியது. விழாவிற்கு வருகை புரிந்த அனைவரையும் நாட்டு நலப்பணித்திட்ட அலுவலர் திரு.ஆர்.பிரபாகரன் அவர்கள் வரவேற்று பேசினார். அவரைத்தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரியின் தாளாளர் முனைவர் திரு.எஸ்.என்.சுப்பிரமணியன் அவர்கள் விழாவிற்கு தலைமையேற்று உரையாற்றினர். பின்னர் கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் முனைவர்.திரு.கு.கருப்புசாமி அவர்கள் முன்னிலையேற்று பேசினார். சிறப்புவிருந்தினர்களை தமிழ்மன்றத்தலைவர் திரு.கே.கார்த்திகேயன் அவர்கள் அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார்.

அடுத்துகோவை மாநகர மேயர் அவர்கள் லோட்டஸ் கண் மருத்துவமனையின் இலவசகண் மருத்துவமுகாமினை துவக்கிவைத்து உரையாற்றினார்.

அவர் தம் உரையில் மாணவர்கள் நாட்டு நலப்பணியில் எவ்வாறு ஈடுபட வேண்டும் என்பதனை பற்றி விரிவாக எடுத்துரைத்தார். அவரைத்தொடர்ந்து கோவை மாநகர துணைமேயர் அவர்கள் தமிழ்மன்றத்தினை தொடக்கிவைத்து உரையாற்றினார். அவர் தம் உரையில் தமிழ் வளர்ச்சியில் மாணவர் பங்கு என்ன என்பதனை பற்றியும், கோவையில் நடக்க இருக்கின்ற உலகத்தமிழ்மாநாட்டில் மாணவர்கள் எவ்வாறு பங்கு பெற வேண்டும் என்பதனை பற்றியும் விரிவாக எடுத்துரைத்தார். அவரைத் தொடர்ந்து இளைஞர் செஞ்சிலுவை சங்க அலுவலர் திரு.எம்.விஸ்வநாத் அவர்கள் விழாவிற்கு வருகை புரிந்து ஒத்துழைப்பு நல்கிய அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி கூறினார். இறுதியாக நாட்டுப்பண் இசைக்க விழா இனிதாக நிறைவுற்றது.

DESPOTZ’09-A National Level Technical Symposium

The DESPOTZ’09(Absolute Rulers), a National Level Technical Symposium was conducted by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of SNS College of Engineering on 5th November 2009.

It encourages the youthful potential engineering brains from all over the country together and come out with constructive ideas towards technical excellence.It is an arena where the students can share their innovative ideas by presenting various technical papers on emerging areas like VLSI, Embedded Systems, Nano Technology ,Biomedical Engineering ,RF ID, Networking etc.

The best twenty six papers were selected for presentation. Other events like Circuit Debugging ,Technical Quiz and Marketing were conducted to the DESPOTZ participants of various college .

Valedictory function began with prayer at 3.00 pm.The Executive Member of DESPOTZ’09 welcomed the gathering.

The principal Dr.G.karuppusami gave the presidential address.
Prof.S.Baskar, Department of Mechanical Engineering from KCT,Coimbatore gave a inspiring speech about the function and distributed the prizes to the winners of various events.

The gathering was felicitated by Prof. R.Natarajan, Administrative officer, SNSCE and Mrs.T.Kowsalya, Head of the Department, Electronics and Communication Engineering proposed a formal vote of thanks.

DESPOTZ ASSOCIATION - INAUGURATION

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of SNS College of Engineering inaugurated first association function on 4th November 2009 at 9.30 am . Mr.D.Satyamoorty, CEO, Thaksha Enterprises IT Solution, Coimbatore lightened the kuthuvilaku to begin the function. The Executive member, DESPOTZ’09 welcomed the gathering.
Mr.D.Satyamoorty gave the inaugural address,in that speech he dipped the students in ocean of knowledge. He also honored the chairman Dr.S.N.Subramanian for receiving the outstanding performance award from the Institute of Engineers (India).
Principal Dr.G.Karuppusami gave the presidential address, the gathering was felicitated by Prof.R.Natarajan,Administrative officer, SNSCE and the Head of the department Mrs T.Kowsalya proposed a formal vote of thanks.

BY LAURELS TO THE LAURELS – A FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

On 31st October, Laurels’ club organized a program exclusively for their Laurels.

The staff members, who attended mission 10x workshop during 22nd of September to 26th of September, earnestly organized a Faculty Development Program in the college campus on 31st October 2009.

Initially, Dr.G Karuppusamy, the Principal bestowed a presentation on ‘Teaching and Learning Strategies’.

Soon after, Dr.Rathna Devi.K presented a presentation on ‘How to make the class more interactive’.

Afterwards, Mrs. Subathra, conducted activities, where every staff participated with great willingness and interest.

The day meant for FDP was much informative for the staff members, in upgrading their knowledge in the field of teaching.

LAURELS’ CLUB Meeting

On behalf of the Laurels’ club of the staff members of SNS College of Engineering, there held a programme on 13.10.2009, to honor the Chairman of SNS Group of Institutions Dr.S.N. Subbramanian, who received an ‘Outstanding Performance Award’ from the Institution of Engineers, India and it was also been arranged to greet the newly married faculty members and the staff members who celebrated their birthdays recently.

Prof. R.Jagadeesan welcomed the gathering. A Documentary film on the Biography of Dr.S.N.Subbramanian was shown. Dr.V.S.Velusamy, Founder Trustee, SNS Group of Institutions, Dr. G. Karuppusami, Principal, S.N.S. College of Engineering, Prof. R.Natarajan, Administrative Officer and all the Head of the departments felicitated the Chairman.
Dr.S.N.Subbramanian addressed the gathering and specified how he attained success.
Later on gifts to the Faculty members were distributed by Dr.S.N.Subbramanian and Dr.S.Rajalakshmi. Prof. K.Periakaruppan proposed the vote of thanks.
The Programme arrangement was done by the Faculty club Secretary, Treasurer and Joint Secretaries along with the co-operation of the other Teaching and Non-teaching Staff members.

Meet the CEO

The School of Management of SNS College of Engineering had organized “Meet the CEO” with Mr.Ravi Jagannnathan, Managing Director and CEO-3i Infotech Consumer Service Ltd., Bangalore, an interaction programmme for the MBA students on 25/9/2009.

Principal Dr.G.Karuppusami welcomed the gathering. Dr.S.N.Subbramanian, Chairman, SNS Group of institutions gave the presidential address. In his address, he stressed on the aspect of Quality by giving explanation for the word QUALITY. ‘Q’ stands for quest for excellence, ‘U’ stands for understanding the concept, ’A’ for analyzing, ‘L’ for learners centric, ‘I’ for innovative, ‘T’ for training for building up competencies, ‘Y’ for year out programmes. He also pointed out that CEO should have vision, understand about all the stakeholders, and he should be a regular reader of daily trends. Becoming a CEO is easy, but until and otherwise he possess the qualities he cannot excel in his position.

The CEO, Mr.Ravi Jagannathan in his interaction with the students, focused on the qualities of a CEO.

Quality need not be certified by anybody else, but it should come in our day to day life. He pointed out that vision of an organization should be achievable, understandable, and communicable with all its stakeholders.

He answered for the question who is a CEO? As a person one who is able to communicate the vision of an organization to all in an understandable manner. He has to make sure that corporate governance is completely practiced in his organization.

According to him quality is nothing but “Corporate Governance”. He also said that a person will be moulded once he is involved in his work.

“A person who does not possess MBA degree can also become a CEO, but the qualification in the management will help in a bigger way along with his soft skills.

As for as commitment is concerned, commitment from an individual will help the organization to grow along with his personal growth.

While interviewing a MBA candidate for an employment, his “Strategic thinking ability and People management techniques” are to be assessed rather than other skills.

Prof.E.Venugopal, Head of the Department proposed the vote of thanks for the gathering.

BUSINEX ASSOCIATION - INAUGURATION

The School of Management of SNS College of Engineering inaugurated the BUSINEX ASSOCIATION on 23rd September 2009 at 10 am. Dr.S.Rajalakshmi Correspondent of SNS Institutions lightened the kuthuvilaku to begin the function. The Head of the department Prof.E.Venugopal welcomed the gathering.

The Association was inaugurated by Dr.John Joseph Alappat, Director South Indian Bank. In his inaugural address he tried to pose the message for the management students regarding the scope and opportunities existing in the globalized competitive world. The future managerial people are going to face the tough time and they have to be ready to mould themselves to face challenges.

He also honored the Chairman Dr.S.N.Subbramanian for receiving the OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AWARD from the Institute of Engineers (India).

To honor the legendry of SNS Institutions, a documentary on his biography has been presented by the Businex Association.

Chairman in his speech enlightened the audience with his personal experience and focused on “Selecting a Role model”.

The term Role model first appeared by the scientist Robert k. Mathews in the specialization research of medical schools. He advised the students to compare themselves with the reference rules with one who occupies the social roles, and to consider only the positive qualities of their role model. Role models are important as they enforce the person to become what he wants and inspire to make differences to choose the wise things we need to make the best things.

Principal Dr. G. Karuppusami gave the presidential address, the gathering was felicitated by Dr. V. S. Velusamy, Founder Trusty and the secretary of Businex Association V. Sivakumar proposed a formal vote of thanks.

Inaugural Function for the III batch of students of SNSCE, took place in the college premises. The Management & staff of SNS College of Engineering gave their warm welcome to the students and their parents.

INVOCATION

In order to attain success, this function started with the prayer song.

LIGHTING THE KUTHUVILAKKU

Lighting up the lamp will erase the darkness and give the shine of brightness. To Wipe away the ignorance and to furnish the light of intelligence, Dr. S.Rajalakshmi, the correspondent lighted up the lamp to blow up the gloom of ignorance.

WELCOME ADDRESS

A Meet with greeting will form a good Gathering, Prof. Jagadeesan, Head of the Department, Dept of EEE., welcomed the congregation.

INAUGURAL ADRESS

Dr. S. N. Subbramaniam, the Chairman, a successful gentleman of this affluent college delivered the inaugural address.

COURSE OVERVIEW

SNS College of Engineering has started its voyage in the year 2007, and has come crossed numerous constructive occurrences. Principal Dr. G. Karuppusami, summarized ‘The Courses’ offered in the college.

FELICITATION

As Robert Frost quotes, ‘Education is the key to unlock the golden door of self-determination'. The key of the golden door was felicitated by The Founder Trustee, Dr. V. S. Velusamy.

FEEDBACKS OF SENIOR STUDENTS
II & III year students came frontward to state concerning their views about the institution’s infrastructure facilities and how they get and enjoy their studies in the campus.

CULTURAL CLASSICAL DANCE
After the feedback, students enlighted the function by their mind blowing performance in Dancing. Indian Classical Dance is so immensely rich in divine values that it really deserves to be called a “Sadhana”, a way to God-experience. Students of SNSCE made the audience to feel the God-experience through their classical dances.

VOTE OF THANKS

‘Thanking’ - measured to be one of the best qualities of humanism. Mrs. Vijayalakshmi thanked the guests of the day and the function got end up with the National Anthem.

"ONASHAMSAKAL"

ONAM CELEBRATION – 2009 SNSCE celebrated its first ‘Onam Celebration’ at the Assembly hall in the college premises on 29th of August 2009. Dr.S.N.Rajalakshmi, the correspondent lighted the Nilavilakku inaugurating the function.

Dr.S.N.Subramanian, the chairman addressed the gathering, delighting them with the story of Onam. Dr.G.Karuppusami, Principal felicitated the event.

The Malayalees of the college arranged a melt in mouth – Ada Pradaman for staff and students, followed by cultural.

SNSCE staff’s “Laurels Club” was inaugurated on 18th August 2009, by Dr.N.S.Balaji, Consultant-Upper GI and Bar iatric surgeon, GKNM Hospital, Coimbatore.

Dr.G.Karuppusami, Principal, welcomed the gathering and the epoch of the club was presided over by our chairman Dr.S.N.Subramaniam.

After felicitation an allocation on obesity & swine flu delivered by the chieftain invitee.

In his oration, he gave information on body fat percentage, its effects on health – causes for obesity like Diet, Genetics & Sedentary life style.

Aftermath, he interacted with the staff of Laurels Club and offered elucidation to the congregation.

Thus, this august complacent event came to an end with great felicity.
